Description: (17 in omega ruby and alpha sapphire, male, July 21) Gold is lanky, gold eyes and short black hair with a long spiky cowlick at the front. He always has avian looking goggles and a billiards cue, that he uses to launch his pokeballs with accuracy. He has gone through two base outfit changes, the first based on the original Silver/Gold/Crystal games, the latest on the Heart Gold/Soul Silver games. He also appears briefly in a suit of armor in the Emerald arc. He likes gambling and skating, often shown getting distracted by "pretty girls" though he's fallen for boys as well. He's known for being a bit of a rascal. Pokemon team: Pibu (Pichu), Poltaro or Polibo (Politoed), Sintaro or Sunbo (Sunkern), Utaro or sodobo (Sudowudo), Togetaro or togebo (Togikiss), Ataro or Ambo (Ambipom), Mantaro or Tibo (Mantyke), Explotaro or Exbo (Typhlosion), remoraid, lickitung, oddish, sandshrew, krabby, Chansey, weedle, exeggcute, drowzee, kakuna
History: He first shows up in the gold and silver arc of the manga, where his pokemon get stolen by Team Rocket. He runs into Silver almost immediately and ends up leaving town to find out just what's going on, starting up the story. During this he's shown cheating at pool, giving his newly hatched pokemon a gambling addiction, and looking for a recovery machine after a building just collapsed on him so he can battle Silver. He also mistook Bugsy as a girl, gets flustered for a second before continuing to try and get a date, he really decided that if they're cute, they're game!
He appears again in the Emerald arc in order to help save Silver and the rest of the Dex holders, wearing a suit of armor for no other reason I can think of other than to aura farm. He even makes a whole speech about how Silver is his close friend and freaks out when he finds out Silver could actually here him.
After that he shows up once more for his own arc of Heart Gold and Soul Silver to figure out what's happening with the remnants of Team Rocket. He ends up fighting god instead.
Canon Relationships: Red (mentor), unnamed mum (a shounen classic)
Why I love them: For a family friendly series Gold is barely so, he’s a cheater, gambler and acts really petty at time. Despite this I find him admirable, he sets his morals whilst keeping to his own personality. Other than that I enjoy blasé attitude yet ability do things when it matters to his friends.
Headcanons: has been arrested before, his home is basically a pokemon ranch/reserve where people leave behind eggs they don't want, he has a spare room just for Silver when he comes to use his tv, is banned from the underground in Goldenrod City, owes money to all of the pokedex holders at one stage.
Fave ships: PreciousMetal (silverxgold)
